RHEOBYK R 607 is a rheology additive that enhances the rheological properties of solvent-free and solvent-borne systems in conjunction with hydrophilic fumed silica and clay additives. RHEOBYK R 607 reinforces the network developed by thixotropes like fumed silica or clay, ensuring it does not break down when amine hardeners are added. This allows hydrophilic fumed silica or clay to be solely used in 2-component epoxy systems. RHEOBYK R 607 added to hardeners achieves spontaneous viscosity increases through hydrogen bonding between thixotropes and RHEOBYK R 607. Formulators can rely on inexpensive hydrophilic fumed silica or clay without compromising application properties, enabling automatic raw material cost reductions and improved product quality.
