EUDRAGIT L 100

EUDRAGIT L 100 is a methacrylic acid - methyl methacrylate copolymer (1:1) used in the pharmaceutical industry. It has a ratio of free carboxyl groups to ester groups of approximately 1:1. EUDRAGIT L 100 is soluble in methanol, ethanol, water-miscible solvents and dilute alkali. It is insoluble in water, ethyl acetate and methylene chloride. EUDRAGIT L 100 forms clear films upon drying and has a viscosity range of 60-120 mPa·s. Its key benefits for pharmaceutical applications include use as an enteric coating polymer to protect actives from degradation in the stomach. It dissolves at pH 5.5 and above, making it suitable for targeting drug release in the intestines.
