BYK-039

BYK 039 is a VOC-free, silicone-free defoamer suitable for aqueous emulsion systems within a PVC range of 35-70. BYK 039 does not contain alkylphenol ethoxylates. It is a mixture of paraffinic mineral oils and hydrophobic components with a density of 0.87 g/ml. BYK 039 has a broad application spectrum and facilitates vacuum deaeration and improves the air release after application in high-solid systems. It provides excellent defoaming at recommended levels of 0.1-0.5% additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation, in exceptional cases up to 0.8%. BYK 039 is recommended for use in emulsion formulations where it helps reduce foam generation and entrapment of air bubbles during manufacturing and application processes.
