CERAFLOUR 1051

CERAFLOUR 1051 is a PTFE-free micronized modified polyethylene wax additive that increases abrasion resistance and improves scratch resistance and surface slip. It has a density of 1.06 g/ml and melting point of 125°C. The extra-fine particle size distribution of 6 um D50 and 10 um D90 allows it to be used in clearcoats and low film thickness applications. CERAFLOUR 1051 has matting properties in aqueous systems due to good surface orientation, requiring 5-10% organic cosolvent to avoid creaming. It provides outstanding abrasion resistance compared to PE/PTFE wax across a broad spectrum of applications. CERAFLOUR 1051 is recommended for general industrial, wood, can, and architectural coatings where it enhances mechanical properties like the typical PE/PTFE wax. It improves scratch and abrasion resistance of aqueous, solvent-borne, solvent-free, and UV coating systems with only minor effect on gloss or haze.
