AQUACER 492

AQUACER 492 is utilized in the textile industry as a hydrophobic agent for various types of fibers, providing effective water repellency. It is also suitable as an extender for oleophobic finishing with fluorochemicals, ensuring that fabrics retain their excellent hydrophobic properties even after moderate washing. AQUACER 492 can be combined with resin finishing agents, such as those based on urea and melamine, which enhance hydrophobic effects, although the baths have a limited shelf life due to necessary acidity. Preliminary tests are recommended when using fillers like dispersions, as they may reduce hydrophobic properties. To fix AQUACER 492 onto the fabric, thorough drying at temperatures between 110 to 150 °C is required, with curing necessary only if used alongside resin finishing agents, adhering to the curing temperature of those products. Additionally, AQUACER 492 achieves excellent water repellency in leather top coats.
