BYK-354

BYK 354 is a polyacrylate-based surface additive that functions as a standard leveling additive with a deaerating effect. BYK 354 can be used in solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings as well as UV-curing printing inks and overprint varnishes. As a result of its high molecular weight and non-polar structure, BYK 354 provides deaerating benefits which is important for applications requiring bubble and void free surfaces such as in advanced material coatings. BYK 354 also increases gloss and acts as an anti-cratering additive for uniform material surfaces. Only minor reduction in surface tension is observed, allowing for excellent recoating capabilities important in multi-layer advanced material fabrication processes. BYK 354 demonstrates thermal stability and can be incorporated during any stage of production including post-addition for flexible manufacturing of advanced materials.
