AVICEL PH-302

AVICEL PH-302 Microcrystalline Cellulose is purified, partially depolymerized cellulose prepared by treating alpha cellulose obtained as a pulp from fibrous plant material with mineral acids. AVICEL PH-302 has a typical average particle size of 100 µm with a high bulk density of approximately 0.4 g/cc, compared to 0.3 g/cc for most other AVICEL grades. AVICEL PH-302 is primarily used for direct compression, and dry granulation/roller compaction. The high bulk density provides increased flowability resulting in improved blending characteristics and tablet uniformity. The high density also helps improve consistency and throughput of the capsule filling process.
