BYK-377

BYK 377 is a highly effective silicone additive that significantly reduces surface tension and improves substrate wetting. BYK 377 contains reactive hydroxyl groups that allow it to be incorporated into polymer matrices. This provides strong reduction of surface tension and improves properties like slip, wetting and release in advanced material coatings and composites. BYK 377 is especially suitable for solvent-borne and solvent-free two component polyurethane systems used in advanced material manufacturing. It can also be used in UV curable coatings and melamine resins applied on advanced material surfaces. At low dosages, BYK 377 gives better performance than conventional silicones. When incorporated via its functional groups, the additive's benefits remain effective for longer durations on advanced material parts. BYK 377 is compatible with standard resins and allows formulating highly transparent advanced material coatings without haze or turbidity.
